I attended last week Orientation Pogram for new DAP members at Federal Hotel....impressed with the talks given by u....Understand that u wud like to organise a trip to Penang CM's office...When is the trip?....
This week (June 30) our Malaysian students report at local universities. The STPM results were out 3 months ago. The smart and serious Singapore universities offered the brightest and best students in Malaysia within a month or so of the release of the results. When Malaysian universities made offers to our local students 2 weeks ago, those who have accepted offers in Singapore were already happily settled down for 2-3 months. There are also many scholarships available by the Singapore government, Temasek Holdings, etc for these students.
Why should these students now return to Malaysia to study at a lower ranked Malaysian university? We are just too slow to act if we are serious about keeping our bright young people.
This event alone takes the cream off the Malaysian university entrants ... annually.
I'm the current Member of Parliament for Rasah and State Assemblyman for Lobak, Negeri Sembilan (State Legislative Assembly Opposition Leader)and the State Chairman of DAP Negeri Sembilan since 2004. At the national level, I'm a member of the Central Executive Committee of the DAP. I was born and bred in Seremban and glad to serve as a "wakil rakyat" in my hometown. I received my primary and secondary education in St.Paul's Institution (my beloved alma matter) and did my Form 6 in SMK Seri Ampangan. I further my studies in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Bangi and obtained my first Degree in Development Science and currently a candidate for Masters of Public Administration from Universiti Malaya.
