YB,

I see you a person with patience, choosing the right issue to bring up, never giving the indication to overshadow DAP top guns.

Doing thing within your power for your electorate yet not going wild or head on with the ruling party.

Dr Chen teach you well and I'm sure you will survive in politic. In less than a year, we saw many PR's politician break & fall, some to haste for power, some to greed for money and yet some to their silly mistake of private life.

Like a certain blogger says, if you stand for public office, your life belong to the public and is up for scrutiny either by friends or foes alike and even though he is very popular and with much persuasion from fans and opposition group does not venture into politic.

I would like to see you maintaining your presence style and strategy and wait for the right time to strike just to win. Dont forget to have more allies and bigger war chest(not through corruption of course)

Remember business people are your friends in time of need.

Dear Friends,

We have to look at the amount from a perspective. Although the allocation to the state government is much lower from the taxes collected from NS folks, we have to take a few factors into consideration.

The amount stated is only direct allocations. There are many indirect allocations to a state from the federal government. For example, teacher's salary, police's salary and other federal employees are directly paid by federal ministries.

Then you have federal projects like the current Seremban Middle Ring Road, Jalan Seremban-Senawang upgrading, etc are funded by federal allocations.

Then you have certain indirect services like defence, bomba, etc which are called public goods..these services cannot be accurately accounted for.

However, I am proponent for taxation reform...ie..more revenues should be channeled to the state government...this can be done like a certain percentage of federal taxes goes to the state.

Well, this issue needs a lot of deliberation but just to give you a general view of how "federalism" works.

Thank you for all the views given!

oil palm windfall tax , corporate & individual tax , 5% govt tax , import duties , oil revenue , etc etc , all these revenues collected by respective states , should only contribute a certain small percentage to federal level , instead of handing over all revenue , then federal govt redistribute it back to respective states........
